Weekly CEO’s Message – 2 September 2022
From The Desk of Ruan Coetzee: Weekly CEO’s Message
Respected Board Members, Local Law Enforcement Members, Supporters, Sponsors and Public Eye Members.
It would seem the past few weeks were the proverbial “Calm before the storm” Numerous break-ins not only in Vaalpark but also in Sasolburg. Items targeted specifically have been laptops, phones and TV’s. Random times, random days. (Wednesdays seem to have been the preferred day, in both SSB & VP) There is no indication that these events have anything to do with the “sak grouers” as they are not active in Sasolburg on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
We urge you to please not leave items like laptops and cellular phones lying around in your homes. Especially where they are visible to persons that may enter your premises.
Over the past few days gate-motors have been targeted too. (Our operational team has several security solutions for gate motors. Please contact me directly in regards to this)
We would like to again remind the community to please report any crimes to SAPS. These crimes are entered into the National Database and these statistics help local law enforcement to assign the correct amount of resources to the required divisions. Without reasons why, our respected Law Enforcement cannot justify why more resources are required.
On a very positive note, we have had more patrollers joining our team, the more the eyes, the greater the ability to identify, curb, report, control and discourage common crime. As a patroller you will need to do an induction course. (Please contact Denise [083-304-7090] for the two options available – Online and in person training is available)
I would like to extend my appreciation to the entire Public Eye and PETT team for their immediate response to situations that the public reported. In all cases they were able to arrive on scene long before any other entities (Including the registered armed response). THIS is what makes Public Eye a formidable force in the fight against crime!
Furthermore, our deepest appreciation for the public that donated to our Moredou charity requests. I can assure you that your donations are going to be used by the team there and the Senior Citizens who will be equally grateful.
As you must know by now our “???” event is being planned furiously in the background and is shaping up to be the event of the year. We will communicate all of the details once the planning around the event has been finalised. We can assure you that it is going to be a fun-filled day for all ages. (PS: Thank you for patiently waiting with all the random “???” pictures. We like to sometimes be secretive) Don’t forget about the “Name the Event” competition! Vote on our Facebook. If you would like to participate you can visit our Facebook or CLICK HERE FOR A DIRECT LINK
Speaking of secrets…..3 December is a long time away for something special…Fans of “The Great Race” or generally fans of treasure hunts….we may have something up our sleeves for you…
People of Sas-Park, I wish you a pleasant, peaceful and safe weekend and week ahead. Be on the look-out, be proactive be kind and most importantly, be LEKKER!!
